Summer’s Ending, Our Military Careers & Losing My Workout Buddy 🥹

Hey there! Summer is coming to an end way too fast; this is our final week of summer before the new school year starts! Next week, my son has his swim team tryouts after a full summer of working hard in the pool, so wish him luck!

ICYMI: Back in June, my six-year-old son was kicked off the summer league for not being a strong enough swimmer (yet). He was pretty upset, but he used that disappointment all summer to learn how to swim all four strokes AND swim over 1,000 yards in a single swimming session! So, fingers crossed all of our efforts pay off next week!

My oldest also completed her virtual 5K running series with runDisney this past week! She had to run three 5Ks this summer. We did two actual races, but for her third 5K, she did it on the treadmill and ran under 30 minutes for a new PR! She is currently training for the Wine & Dine 5K in October!

Having my kids be such an active part of my own fitness has really seemed to inspire them to love being active themselves. Watching both of them work toward their own fitness goals this summer has been really fun for me. I hope that watching me work hard toward my own fitness goals continues to inspire them as they grow up.

Zoe's Growing Up: Preschool Starts Next Week!!

Speaking of workout buddies, my youngest is turning two this week (where did the time go?!), and she will be heading to her first year of preschool!

I find that having my younger kids in some sort of activity in the mornings helps me focus more on homeschooling my older two. But this also means that my morning workout buddy won’t be there anymore, and I’ll be doing most of my workouts solo now.

I’m sort of excited to be able to just knock out my workouts, but I’m also kind of sad to not have my littlest workout buddy there with me. Maybe I’ll shift my workouts to later in the day so they can all be there with me.

Our Military Careers: Recapped in this week's podcast

This week on the MamasteFit Podcast, Roxanne and I share about our time in the Army! We were both Army officers a long time ago and were actually pregnant and gave birth to our first babies while still on active duty. We share about our individual careers (in case you were ever wondering what we did while we were in the Army!) and what it was like navigating the perinatal timeframe as servicemembers.

I share about my time as a Military Police Officer and Cultural Support Team Leader, and Roxanne shares about her time as an Army Nurse.

If you are currently active duty, let us know what’s different now from when we served! Our experiences are a bit dated since we’ve both been out of the Army for almost 7–8 years, so how things were when we were in may be really different from how they are today.

Reply to this email and let us know what’s still the same and what’s changed! We would love to hear from you and update our audience on any changes.

I LOVE your program, it’s the first program I ever stick to!! Always sooo excited to see what’s for the day + the accessory moves. Big big big fan girl! Your program is a banger and i recommend it to everybody! please share, I hope more women can feel the confidence I feel as a result of this program!

Stay Strong in Pregnancy and Motherhood!

MamasteFit is one of the only fitness training facilities in the country that exclusively works with in-person prenatal and postnatal fitness clients—and also provides hands-on birth support. Our prenatal and postpartum fitness programs aren’t random “safe” modifications pulled from the internet; they’re designed specifically for this stage of life, tested and refined with our in-person clients, and approved by our in-house pelvic floor physical therapists.

Prenatal Fitness Programs

Our prenatal programs were created to keep you strong and pain-free throughout pregnancy with specialty exercises to help you prepare for birth with pelvic opening, pelvic floor, and birth prep movements.

We offer two prenatal fitness options:

  • Self-Paced Prenatal Strength Program
  • Video-Based Prenatal Fitness Program

Both programs are synced to your week of pregnancy, so the workouts progress alongside your changing body from the first trimester through birth. Whether you're newly pregnant or approaching your due date, you'll have workouts designed specifically for your stage of pregnancy.

And unlike many pregnancy fitness subscriptions, both programs include lifetime access, so you can revisit the workouts during future pregnancies whenever you need them.

Not sure if our workouts are right for you? Preview a free prenatal workout and experience our coaching style before joining.

Postpartum Fitness Programs

Our postpartum fitness programs were carefully designed alongside our in-person clients and pelvic floor physical therapists to create a smooth transition from healing and recovery back to exercise. Rather than leaving you wondering what to do after your six-week appointment, our programs guide you step-by-step from early rehabilitation through strength training, impact activities, and returning to the activities you love.

Want to see what our postpartum workouts are like before joining? Preview a free postpartum workout and experience how we help moms rebuild strength, confidence, and function after birth.

Beyond Postpartum Strength and Running Program

And if you are beyond the first 6–9 months postpartum and ready to continue strength training with us, check out our Beyond Postpartum Strength Program.

This is the exact strength program I personally use to stay strong in motherhood while continuing to support my pelvic floor and core. The program moves through 6–8 week training cycles with new workouts each phase. Every cycle focuses on a different training goal, including strength endurance, maximal strength, power, and stability so you can continue progressing long after the postpartum phase.

Beyond Postpartum also includes optional running programs designed to pair with the strength training. Whether you're working toward your first 5K, returning to racing, building endurance, or training for longer distances, you'll have structured run programming that complements your lifting schedule.

Not sure if it's the right fit? Start with a free 7-day trial and explore the workouts, training app, and community before committing.

Hey there! This past weekend was a busy one for us! We competed in our first speed puzzling competition, which was actually our state championship. We both competed in the solo puzzle and then completed a pairs puzzle together. For our pairs puzzle, we placed 14th, which was very exciting! Now, we need to get back to our 18,000-piece puzzle that we paused for the summer. Another big win was that Roxanne upped her long run distance to 7 miles! I quickly abandoned her on our weekly long run......

Hey there! This week, we got a lot more filmed for our new Pelvic Floor Foundations Workout Program. This course will include an educational portion that breaks down the WHY behind our approach to the pelvic floor, plus Roxanne filmed educational videos from a medical perspective. The course will also include 30+ pelvic floor-focused, follow-along workout videos that range from pelvic floor downregulation and relaxation to pelvic floor balance and strengthening. I am really excited about all...

Hey there! In case you missed our latest IG post, here is a quick list of things I would never do pregnant... Static Line Parachuting: Landings are pretty hard, and it's also hard to jump with a rucksack between your legs with a pregnant belly. 0/10. Kickboxing Where I Am the Bag: Kickboxing by itself could be fine, but having someone use me as an actual punching bag sounds like a terrible time and also dangerous for my pregnant belly. Trapeze: Circus athletes, don't come for me. I just have...
