Run pain-free: my pre-run pelvic floor and hip flow
Published about 13 hours ago • 4 min read
Hey there! We finally hit over 50,000 subscribers on YouTube, which is a huge milestone for us! We’ve been focusing more on long-form education and workouts on our free YouTube channel because it gives us more opportunity to keep providing free education and fitness. We want to make sure finances are never a barrier to feeling GOOD in your pregnancy, preparing for birth with confidence, and recovering more easily after birth.
You deserve to feel great and capable in your body!
Roxanne is rebuilding after her fourth (and final?) baby, who’s only 9 months old, and she’s running her first half marathon next week, with marathons planned for January and February. Between a baby with a much shorter attention span and 12-hour shifts at a birth center, she doesn’t have the same flexibility I do.
We have different training goals, and two very different ways of making it work, because workouts can look different than they did before kids, and that’s okay. If you want to see how I’m structuring my training as a busy mom, I broke down my full 100-mile race plan on the blog.
New On YouTube: My Pre-Run Mobility Flow for the Pelvic Floor and Hips
Speaking of running, I just released the pre-run mobility flow I use to keep my runs pain-free (they average 9–11 miles, mostly on the treadmill). I’ve dealt with SI joint pain in the past and currently have a grade 2 prolapse, so making sure my pelvis moves WELL with every stride is a big part of staying pain-free.
This flow includes the static pelvic floor stretches, pelvic mobility exercises, and strength movements I use to keep things balanced. If you try it, let me know how it feels!
Also New: Breath-to-Movement Mechanics for Lifting During Pregnancy and Postpartum
How you breathe through a lift determines how pressure moves through your core and pelvic floor. In this video, we break down how to coordinate your breath with movement so your diaphragm, deep core, and pelvic floor work together instead of bracing against each other. This is how we support the pelvic floor (and the entire core) while lifting during pregnancy and after birth, and it’s the foundation for everything else we teach.
Subscribe to our free YouTube channel for weekly workouts, fitness tips, and educational content that goes deeper than we can in a 60–90 second reel. There’s a lot of nuances to our approach to this phase of life, and it’s hard to capture in a short clip.
Pelvic Floor Foundations Workout Program
If these videos resonate and you want more workouts built on this same approach, our new Pelvic Floor Foundations Workout Programgives you a library of pelvic floor–focused workouts you can choose from based on what your body needs that day, whether that’s release and mobility, strength, or breath and pressure management.
Prefer a week-by-week plan? Our prenatal and postpartum programs walk you through every phase with progressive workouts built around these same principles.
When you purchase one of our programs, you’re also helping us keep our YouTube channel free. Your support is what allows us to keep creating in-depth education and workouts that every mom can access, regardless of budget, so the mom who can’t afford a program right now still gets the tools to feel strong in her body.
I know it sounds dramatic, but Mamaste Fit truly changed the trajectory of my life. After my third baby, I was diagnosed with grade 3 prolapse and heard the same line from multiple PTs: “You won’t run or do CrossFit again.”
I went from feeling defeated to powerful. Mamaste Fit’s approach to functional strength, pressure management, and smart programming gave me a way forward when I didn’t think one existed.
I’m not chasing my pre‑baby numbers (I’m not that athlete anymore) but I am lifting heavy again and running 15–20 miles a week. I’m doing things I was told were off the table for me. I’m so grateful!

Hey there! Did you know September is one of the busiest months for babies to be born??? We are finishing out our busy baby season at work. Send coffee and good vibes to any birth worker friends you know who may be tired, too! When supporting births, something I always like to do afterward is reflect on what things I could have done differently to support them, or what they seemed to really like. This has helped me learn and adjust my practice, especially when navigating labor with the pelvic...
Hey!! It's been some time since I, Roxanne, popped into the newsletter to give some life updates! I have been working as a Certified Nurse Midwife at a local birth center for now 5 months and have been loving it so much, but don't you worry, my imposter syndrome still sneaks in there to keep me humble. I just took our first trip to Disney World with Harvey AND without my husband to help...I did bring my dad with me to help, which is my biggest parenting hack if you have the option! He was...
