But here’s the truth—different positions open different parts of the pelvis, and not all of them help with progress in every stage of labor. Read the blog for more In my upcoming Labor Positions Webinar on October 22, I’ll show you: How to open each level of the pelvis to help baby engage, rotate, and descend Position strategies for both unmedicated and epidural births How to tune into...

Hey there! On Monday, October 6, my next Birth Prep Workout Series begins—and I would love for you to join us! Here’s why birth prep matters: Your common postural tendencies can directly impact how well your pelvis opens and how much tension your pelvic floor holds as you prepare for birth. There isn’t one “best” posture, but you do want to be able to move fluidly and change positions easily. That’s exactly what we focus on in the MamasteFit Birth Prep Circuit and inside this workout series:...

Hi there, This past week was a big one. I kicked off the first workshop of my book tour in Charlotte, and it was a sold-out session! I’ll admit, I had some imposter syndrome leading up to it. I kept thinking no one would come in person and that I’d end up canceling all the workshops. But the room was full, and it was amazing to connect face-to-face with so many expecting parents. Some of the women were already following my prenatal workout programming online, and the extra in-person support...

Hey there! When labor stalls, what tools do we really have? Do we simply wait and see? Transfer care if things don’t change? Rely on medical interventions like Pitocin? While all of these have their place, relying only on them leaves a huge gap. As professionals and parents, we deserve more tools to prepare for and support birth. The missing piece? Pelvic mechanics. A deeper understanding of the pelvis and pelvic floor can help us: Prepare prenatally with targeted birth prep exercises...

Hey there! Lately, I’ve seen a lot of chatter about how exercising, especially lifting weights, can supposedly make labor harder. There’s definitely nuance here, but I find this message only adds to the fear of movement during pregnancy (which isn’t helpful at all). Here’s the truth: simply lifting weights does NOT instantly make your pelvic floor “tight.” You can go your entire pregnancy without touching a dumbbell and still have a pelvic floor that feels restricted. What really matters is...
