Your rib cage might be the reason your pelvic floor isn’t healing

Hey there! If you’re struggling with diastasis, prolapse, or pelvic floor dysfunction, your rib cage might actually be the culprit.

Your body is all connected. Movement, or lack of movement, in one area can greatly impact how another part functions. One of the most overlooked areas is your rib cage and thoracic spine.

Many of us find ourselves stuck in a more extended (arched) position throughout pregnancy and postpartum. This position puts increased pressure on the front of your pelvic floor (hello, bladder leaking and heaviness), and it can make diastasis harder to heal because the abdominal wall stays constantly stretched. Every breath you take pushes on that tissue thousands of times a day.

But when you unlock your rib cage and thoracic spine, you can find almost immediate relief from common symptoms like leaking and pelvic heaviness. Over time, your diastasis begins to heal, your symptoms ease, and you finally feel good in your body again.

Try this quick relief tip:

  • If you notice leaking with jumping or running, check your ribs. Are they flared up? Try gently lowering them so your ribs and pelvis “stack,” and see how that changes your symptoms. If jumping in place, you can even try to stagger your stance where the left foot is back and right foot is forward.
  • If you’re feeling heaviness, try rounding your upper back and taking a few slow breaths in that position. That simple shift can relieve pelvic pressure fast.

🎥 Check out this quick relief workout we’ve used to help hundreds of clients feel better right away from prolapse symptoms just by rounding the back and breathing.
